Our Surgeon

Mr Hans Soeldner FRCSEd

Mr Soeldner is an experienced refractive surgeon who has performed over 1500 laser vision correction procedures.

He was trained as a refractive surgeon during a 2-year refractive surgery fellowship from 2002 to 2004 at the Mater Private Hospital in Dublin.

In 2004 he returned to the UK and was appointed as permanent Consultant Ophthalmologist at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough. He continued to work for large refractive laser clinics in Newcastle and Leeds, but eventually decided to build such a facility for the people of Teesside.

Mr Soeldner is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Member of the European Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

He has worked in the UK since 1996 and trained as a Specialist Registrar in Ophthalmology in the West of Scotland Rotation from 1998 to 2002.

He is listed on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council for the Speciality of Ophthalmology.

Mr Soeldner also performs cataract, squint surgery and emergency eye surgery at the James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough where he has full admitting rights.

4. "Wavefront Analysis of Optical Aberrations and Customised Ablation", presented at the Refractive Update meeting at the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin (November 2002)

5. "LASIK for the Correction of Hyperopia with the Technolas 217 Excimer Laser", presented at the ESCRS Conference in Nice (September 2002)
